Helena Anderbjörk - provider of translation, proofreading and editing services since 1996
I have been freelancing as a translator, proofreader and editor ever since I left a PhD programme in English linguistics at University of Stockholm in 1996. I have always had a passion for languages. My academic focus has largely been on sociolinguistics, i.e. language as a social phenomenon, its dependence on ethnic, socioeconomic and other factors, and psycholinguistics, that is, the structures and processes that form the basis for our ability to learn, speak and understand languages.
I translate, proofread and edit in English and Swedish and have regularly been trusted by demanding clients to translate in both directions of my language pair. I am a member of SFÖ - The Swedish Association of Professional Translators.
From national defence headquarters to IT start-ups, I have always enjoyed working with my clients to develop texts that fully convey the intended message in a professional and stylistic manner. Over the years I have carried out assignments in a number of different industries and in a variety of operations. Clients include large multinationals and government agencies but also a number of SME’s in various fields (travel and tourism, sea safety, maritime, logistics, management consulting, home design and more).
I am also a great lover of animals, wildlife and nature and sponsor wildlife conservation programmes. I have always been very interested in dogs and have had a canine companion more or less my entire life. I truly enjoy the active outdoors lifestyle that follows with being a dog owner. When an opportunity arises I therefore very much like to carry out work within these fields as well.
